Who receives your gift

Gifts made through the donation links on this website are made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ohio Valley, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 35-1748468), and support our local Houses and programs serving families in southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and western Kentucky.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ohio Valley is a local chapter. Gifts made here support our local work. Gifts to Ronald McDonald House Charities Global, or to another chapter, are made through those organizations directly.

How online gifts are processed

Online donations are processed securely by our third-party giving platform, Qgiv. When you select a donation button, you are taken to a secure Qgiv donation form. Payment information is encrypted and handled by the payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our website or in our systems.

Tax deductibility and receipts

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ohio Valley is recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Unless a specific benefit is described at the time of your gift, no goods or services are provided in exchange for your donation. Please consult your tax advisor about your situation.

An email receipt is sent to the address you provide when your gift is completed. Please keep it for your records. If you do not receive a receipt, please contact us.

Designated gifts

When you choose a specific purpose for your gift, such as support for Washington House or Gateway House, we use your gift for that purpose. If a designated purpose has already been fully funded or can no longer be carried out, we will use the gift where it is most needed in support of our mission.

Recurring gifts

If you set up a monthly or other recurring gift, it will continue on the schedule you chose until you change or cancel it. You can update your payment information, change the amount, or cancel at any time by contacting us. Changes take effect for future gifts.

Refunds and corrections

If a gift was made in error, such as an incorrect amount or a duplicate transaction, please contact us within 30 days of the gift. We will work with you to correct it. Requests made after 30 days are reviewed case by case.

Donor privacy

We do not sell, rent, or trade donor information. We use donor information to process gifts, send receipts, thank donors, keep accurate records, and share updates about our work. Donors may ask to give anonymously or to stop receiving fundraising communications at any time. See our Privacy Policy for more.
